One more thing… that Apple should have announced, but didn’t.

Published byDavid HM Spector under Apple

There was a “one more thing” that Steve Jobs didn’t announce today, which he should have: a iTunes Music Server (notice I didn’t say an AppleTV server… they already made one of them . I am one of those crazy people who, like most media lovers, has ungodly amounts of Music, [...]

iPod Touch is a game changer…

Like just about everyone I was hitting the refresh button on my browser as today’s Apple Special Event unfolded. The refresh of the iPod line was a “given,” but i didn’t actually expect them to intro a WiFi-based iPod based on OSX today (even though it’s been rumoured for weeks).
I think this is [...]

FaceBook Kerfuffle: These Kids Need to STFU and Grow Up

Published byDavid HM Spector under Startups

This FaceBook Suit is utterly hilarious. In a nutshell, for those haven’t heard about it, or refuse to click on NYT links, Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of FaceBook is being sued by former Harvard classmates who claim that he “stole the idea” from them. Pass on the Quechup, or why YASNS isn’t about Social Networking

We were on vacation for a couple of weeks in the San Francisco bay area, and I, along with ~10 others, got courtesy of HP and led by HP’s Archivist Anna Mancini, a private tour during BarCampBlock of the Birthplace of Silicon Valley at the garage where Hewlett and Packard started HP in [...]

Pets, Kids and Death

Published byDavid HM Spector under Kids, Pets

Oy-vey. At about 3AM we discovered one of our cats, a ~16 yr old cailco, named ConnieCat had died…
At 8:30AM this morning we had to break the news to our 7 yr old daughter. Much wailing and keening ensued. ..and continues.
Not. going. to. be. a. fun. day.
The [...]

Oddities

Published byDavid HM Spector under Kids, Photography, Travel

I was going though my pictures from our vacation in the SF Bay Area last, and ran across this gem that I took at Children’s FairyLand at Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. It’s a very funky 1950s storybook park for little kids (my oldest thought it was “cute” but it’s really for [...]
