The Zeitgeist

I was going though my pictures from our vacation in the SF Bay Area last, and ran across this gem that I took at Children’s FairyLand at Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. It’s a very funky 1950s storybook park for little kids (my oldest thought it was “cute” but it’s really for younger kids). However it does have that “lost in time” sense about it… and this picture captures that pretty deeply… the cobwebs on the bookworm make it seem like the place has been abandoned for a hundred years, then suddenly plopped down into 2007 in this park. Trés Weird.
