The Zeitgeist

Or, out of the frying pan, and (back) into the fire.

I’ve just finished up a ~1 1/2 year stint working at a large (and, for now, nameless) Wall Street firm.  I’d been out of the Wall St. scene for quite a while from 1996 though late 2004, and I tell you nothing had changed.  All the stories your friends tell you (if yor frends, like mine ,are in the IT profession) are true.   The financial business can be one of the most nasty, back-biting places in the entire world to work.  The only thing I noted is the in the time I’d been out, things, thanks to outsourcing have gotten even meaner.
